# Mobile use of the app

> Use absentify on mobile through the Microsoft Teams app, plus optional home screen shortcuts on iOS and Android for one-tap access to absences.

absentify is fully accessible on mobile devices through **Microsoft Teams**. There's no need for employees to install anything separately – the app is centrally deployed by Microsoft 365 administrators, making rollout simple and streamlined.

<Info>
  absentify is **not available** in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It is designed to be used directly within Microsoft Teams, which simplifies deployment and management.
</Info>

### Central deployment via Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams admins can make absentify available in Teams for all employees. Once enabled, it can be accessed on both desktop and mobile – no manual installation required.

<Note>
  Admins can follow the [setup guide for Microsoft 365 admins](/docs/en/roles/m365admins/getting_started/enable_absentify_in_teams_and_outlook) to enable absentify across Teams and Outlook.

## Using absentify on mobile devices

#### iOS

On iPhones, absentify is available within the **Microsoft Teams app**. Employees can open Teams and find absentify through search or app navigation.

If you prefer a native app-like experience, you can add absentify as an icon using Safari:

<iframe src="https://demo.arcade.software/JrhJnjvUHKxq7kFW8jjb?embed&embed_mobile=inline&embed_desktop=inline&show_copy_link=false" title="Add absentify to iOS home screen" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen allow="clipboard-write" className="responsive-iframe" />

Steps:

1. Open **Safari** and go to [app.absentify.com](https://app.absentify.com).
2. Sign in with your Microsoft credentials.
3. Tap the **Share** icon at the bottom of the screen.
4. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**.
5. Confirm by tapping **Add** in the top-right corner.

absentify will now appear as an app icon on your home screen for quick access.

#### Android

On Android, you can pin absentify to your home screen directly from the Microsoft Teams app.

<iframe src="https://demo.arcade.software/dBKp4ncHQIt1VGuzKre9?embed&embed_mobile=inline&embed_desktop=inline&show_copy_link=false" title="Add absentify to Android home screen" frameborder="0" loading="lazy" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen allow="clipboard-write" className="responsive-iframe" />

Steps:

1. Ensure the **Microsoft Teams app** is installed.
2. Open Teams and search for **absentify** to launch the app.
3. If you don’t see absentify, it may need to be enabled by your IT team – refer to the [admin guide](/docs/en/roles/m365admins/getting_started/enable_absentify_in_teams_and_outlook).
4. In the opened app, tap the **three dots** (⋮) or swipe up for more options.
5. Select **Add to home screen**.

A shortcut to absentify will now be available on your home screen, allowing you to launch it just like a regular app.

<Note>
  For the best experience, make sure you are using the latest version of Safari on iOS or Microsoft Teams on Android.
