# SharePoint add-in

> Embed the absentify SharePoint add-in to display team absences directly on SharePoint pages and integrate with your intranet without custom development.

absentify provides a SharePoint Add-in that enables you to embed absence management tools and overviews directly into SharePoint pages. The integration leverages Single Sign-On (SSO) for a seamless user experience and offers the same features as the Microsoft Teams app.

### Key features

* **Team overview as a Web Part**: Display absences for a team or department directly on a SharePoint page.
* **Interactive navigation**: Users can navigate between weeks and months to view past and future absences.
* **Create absence requests**: Employees can submit new absence requests directly from the Web Part.
* **Department-based configuration**: Set a default department to display in the Web Part. Users will only see data they are authorized to access.
* **User permissions and access**: The view automatically adjusts based on the user’s permissions. If a user cannot access the default department, they are redirected to their personal or permitted view.

### Installation and setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Obtain the Add-in from AppSource">
    1. Visit [Microsoft AppSource](https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-gb/product/office/WA200006382?tab=Overview).
    2. Search for **absentify** and select the SharePoint Add-in.
    3. Select **Get it now** to add the Add-in to your SharePoint environment.

  <Step title="Approve permissions">
    During the setup, you may need to approve the `User.Read` API permission. Follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the [SharePoint Admin Center](https://admin.microsoft.com/sharepoint).
    2. Select **Advanced** > **API Access**.
    3. In the **Pending requests** tab, locate `Microsoft Graph – User.Read`.
    4. Select the request and select **Approve**.

    1. Navigate to the desired SharePoint page.
    2. Enter edit mode for the page.
    3. Add the **absentify Web Part** to the page.
    4. Configure the default department to display in the Web Part.

    1. Ensure department permissions are correctly configured in absentify and SharePoint.
    2. Users will only see absences for teams or departments they are authorized to access.
