Accessing the Insights page
Navigate to the top menu bar in absentify and select Insights. This will open the dashboard for your department, displaying key metrics and charts about leave patterns and employee activity. To access advanced insights, your company must be subscribed to at least the Mini plan. Additional data and visualizations are only available after upgrading.
Viewing department statistics
The main Insights dashboard provides an overview of important statistics for your department, including:- Booked: The total number of absences booked by employees for the current year.
- Remaining: The total number of allowance days/hours still available after booked days/hours are deducted.
- Total allowance: The sum of both Booked and Remaining days or hours, reflecting the department’s total annual allowance.
- Number of employees: The total number of employees in your department.
Filtering by department
If you manage multiple departments, use the dropdown menu at the top of the Insights page to switch between specific departments. Only the departments you manage will appear in the list.Exploring the Annual Trend chart
The Annual Trend chart visualizes the distribution of leave types across the months of the current year. This helps you identify patterns, such as peak absence periods, and plan accordingly.- Select specific leave types in the legend to filter the chart and focus on certain categories.
- Hover over any data point in the chart to see the exact amount of leave taken for that specific leave type and month (available from the Mini plan onward).
Upcoming birthdays and anniversaries
The Free plan lets you see up to two upcoming events. Starting with the Mini plan, the Insights page displays a complete list of upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries.- This overview helps you view a full list of upcoming events, sorted by date.
- For birthdays, you’ll see the employee’s birth date and current age.
- For anniversaries, you’ll see the employee’s start date and the number of years they’ve been with the company.
- Invisible managers are excluded from the birthday and anniversary lists that regular department members see; managers and admins retain full visibility.
As a department manager, you will only see upcoming birthdays and anniversaries for members of the department(s) you manage. Administrators see upcoming events for all employees across the organization.
Monitoring employee well-being with the Burnout Board
The Burnout Board highlights employees who may need a break. For each team member it considers when their last absence ended and when their next planned absence starts.- Employees flagged here should be prioritized for a break to maintain productivity and prevent burnout.
- Once time off is scheduled for these employees, they will automatically be removed from the Burnout Board.
- The list is scoped by the department filter at the top of the Insights page. Managers see only the departments they manage; administrators can switch between all departments.
Only approved or pending requests under leave types flagged as a real absence (the Counts as leave setting) are considered. Leave types used purely for allowance tracking and public holidays do not count toward the Burnout Board — taking a public holiday or a balance-only leave type therefore does not reset the burnout signal.
The Burnout Board displays all employees in your department who haven’t taken any leave in over 30 days, on every plan. This gives you a full overview of potential burnout risks across your team.
Tip: Use these insights to balance workloads, optimize absence planning, and promote employee well-being across your team.
